Annual leave, holidays and sick days

A foreign worker is entitled to paid annual leave. In the first five years with the same employer that is 16 calendar days a year, which usually means 14 working days for someone working a six-day week. You are entitled to up to nine paid holidays a year — either the holidays of your own religion or the Jewish ones, as you choose — where the holiday does not fall on your weekly rest day. For illness, you accrue a day and a half of sick leave for every month worked, on presentation of a medical certificate.
